The Day the LOLcats Died (due to SOPA/PIPA)

I realize that yesterday was the internet blackout in opposition to SOPA/PIPA but I’m not done sharing my opposition yet.  But this time its in a funny video form that is just too good to pass up sharing.  Please everyone, lets save those LOLcats.

The Dark Knight Rises Sweded Trailer

If you saw the movie Be Kind Rewind you are familiar with this concept.  A movie or in this case a movie trailer is recreated using little to no special effects or costuming budget.  However, the actors play it straight like this is a legitimate movie trailer.  The sweded version of The Avengers was quite funny and so is this one.

Pwn Stars

If you watch the History Channel, you’ve probably seen one of the many reruns of Pawn Stars that they show all the time.  Its a fun show, but they really do lowball people on some of their offers.  When you do a videogame spoof then it makes the deal making even funnier… especially with Link trying to trade in his Triforce.

One quick note for you all.  I’m going to be having my wisdom teeth removed and as such not online as much.  Updates are probably going to be sporadic for a few days.

Zombie In A Penguin Suit

Sorry for the sort posts today, but I am working on something longer for tomorrow.  However, this zombie video was brought to my attention and I wanted to share it.  The concept is pretty simple, its a zombie in a penguin suit and his journey across the country.  Maybe its because I’m fixated on The Walking Dead right now, but I really enjoyed this movie.

The Man Series Continues With Bob Saget

After a brief hiatus we bring the return of The Man Series.  The newest inductee is none other than Bob Saget.  Many people might be familiar with him from playing Danny Tanner in Full House and as the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos.  However, Bob Saget is not at all like those characters he has portrayed on TV.

Saget is a stand-up comic well known for his rather raunchy performances.  You might be asking, why would I add Bob Saget to the illustrious ranks of the The Man Series?  Simply put his comedy is hilarious and makes use of the fame he had gathered in the past.  And his comedy makes fun of the characters he used to play.  If you don’t believe me check out the videos below.  But fair warning, Bob Saget does use a good deal of profanity so if that offends you please don’t view them.  Oh and Saget provides the voice of Future Ted on How I Met Your Mother further cementing his status.  (I’m a fan of HIMYM so thats points in my book)

The first video is of a Bob Saget performance live in Florida.  The song is entitled Danny Tanner Was Not Gay.  Funny video but again very profane.  The next video is Bob Saget starring in one of Jamie Kennedy’s rap videos.  This video is hilarious because it completely rips on the Danny Tanner character and it even includes George Lucas in a blink and you’ll miss it cameo!

Will Ferrell Sings Star Trek

Does it really get any better than Will Ferrell singing the Star Trek theme song?

Star Trek vs. Star Wars The Movie

One of my guilty pleasures are the YouTube mashup videos.  Just saw this one about a fan made Star Trek vs. Star Wars movie trailer.  Its not half bad minus the fact they mixed JJ Abrams Trek reboot with the Next Generation movies.

Avatar II Trailer

In an effort to continue or trend of showcasing new movie trailers, the Nerds of The Round Table are proud to present an exclusive look at the Avatar II trailer.  Enjoy!

So, what did you think? Not what you were expecting I bet.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

This books could possibly be my favorite book to come out this year.  The book is written by the same man who brought you other literary classics like Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.  And if facts like that aren’t enough to check out the book here’s a preview provided by Amazon:

Indiana, 1818. Moonlight falls through the dense woods that surround a one-room cabin, where a nine-year-old Abraham Lincoln kneels at his suffering mother’s bedside. She’s been stricken with something the old-timers call “Milk Sickness.”

“My baby boy…” she whispers before dying.

Only later will the grieving Abe learn that his mother’s fatal affliction was actually the work of a vampire.

When the truth becomes known to young Lincoln, he writes in his journal, “henceforth my life shall be one of rigorous study and devotion. I shall become a master of mind and body. And this mastery shall have but one purpose…” Gifted with his legendary height, strength, and skill with an ax, Abe sets out on a path of vengeance that will lead him all the way to the White House.

While Abraham Lincoln is widely lauded for saving a Union and freeing millions of slaves, his valiant fight against the forces of the undead has remained in the shadows for hundreds of years. That is, until Seth Grahame-Smith stumbled upon The Secret Journal of Abraham Lincoln, and became the first living person to lay eyes on it in more than 140 years.

Using the journal as his guide and writing in the grand biographical style of Doris Kearns Goodwin and David McCullough, Seth has reconstructed the true life story of our greatest president for the first time-all while revealing the hidden history behind the Civil War and uncovering the role vampires played in the birth, growth, and near-death of our nation..

I don’t know about you, but this book just sounds like its going to be hilarious, mostly because theres no way anything serious will take place in the book.  I have a friend who is a big fan of Abe Lincoln, I’m hoping she reads this book.  I’m thinking a great crossover might by Abe Lincoln in the Buffy comics or even better Lincoln showing up in the Twilight movies and slaughtering the emo vamps.  After all, Lincoln would be a scary guy… especially if he’s carrying an ax.

One last bit of information to share, the publishing company has released a YouTube video to promote the book and I’ve embedded it below.  If you can watch the video and not laugh I’d be amazed!

Xbox Achievements in Real Life

I wonder if I would be a lot more productive if there were achievements behind all my tasks at work?  Of course judging by this video there is always the potential to go a little overboard.
